Change of leadership at InterRail

|   Group Press Releases

St. Gallen, March 24, 2022. Hans Reinhard, CEO of InterRail Holding AG Switzerland and also its Chairman of the Board of Directors since 2016, is stepping down as of March 31, 2022, and relinquishing his operational duties as CEO. In the future, he will focus on his function as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the InterRail Group.

His operational responsibilities within the InterRail Group will be transferred to a newly formed Group Management. Three InterRail managers, Jürgen Huschka (Executive Director Eurasia), Yuri Kulakin (Managing Director InterRail Service LLC) and Dilshod Suleymanov (Regional Director for Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan) will be jointly responsible for the operational management of the InterRail Group and report directly to the Board of Directors.

Hans Reinhard has been working for the TransInvest Group, to which InterRail belongs, in various functions since 1982. Since the early 1990s, he has focused in particular on the rail sector of the group; he has contributed significantly to the segment’s success and development. Hans Reinhard will continue holding board mandates in the bodies of various TransInvest companies.

"It is with confidence that I am handing over the baton, or rather the leadership, to a young, highly motivated team that has proven its capabilities and achieved very good results even in the past two difficult pandemic years. Overall, this is in line with our Group's spirit of giving younger managers a chance at top management level and thus ensuring the necessary dynamism in the company. It also fits perfectly with our corporate philosophy and strategy, which even in its earliest beginnings boldly believed in the success of the China-Europe block train business," Hans Reinhard says. "Of course, we are facing new challenges due to the current geopolitical situation, but we are confident that we will overcome them as well. Our experience and know-how will ensure that we now work even more intensively on viable alternatives for our customers."

InterRail has consistently added new destinations to its portfolio in recent years, and has from the outset been heavily involved in the development of new routes.
