InterRail’s Train Services from and to Uzbekistan continues on success course

It has been almost two years now that InterRail has been offering rail service between the port of Nakhodka-Vostochny, Russia, and Uzbekistan, and in November of this year we have handled the 100th train on the route. The trains have a transit time of 11 to 12 days.

As imports to Uzbekistan continue growing, the number of trains was increased in October. Instead of three, there are now four trains – thus, two departures every week in both directions. Geographically, the connection was extended, too, as new countries of destination or origin were added such as India, Bangladesh, Indonesia.

Before, goods were transported mostly via the port of Bandar Abbas, Iran. But owing to the sanction imposed on the country, shippers and forwarders began choosing alternatives, and the Vostochny route became one of the most attractive options. Not only for freight to Uzbekistan. The service via Vostochny is becoming more and more apt also for Tajikistani import and export goods, with Tashkent serving as the trans-shipment hub.

The service InterRail offers on this route comprises wagon rental, port handling, freight payment and assembling the block trains. Owing to good cooperation with big shipping lines, the service can be offered to and from every port worldwide also for SOC and COC.

By the way, our InterRail delegation in Uzbekistan was founded ten years ago! We congratulate team Uzbekistan on this anniversary! But we have to add that the current delegation was formed from the former TransRail Uzbekistan, which is why we have much more than ten years of experience in rail traffics to and from Central Asia and the Far East. We would be happy to make use of our long-time knowhow also for your transports! Don’t hesitate to contact us at info.uz@interrail.ag.
