Embargo Commodities: Transit through the CIS states possible again

In recent years, the transit of European agricultural products and foodstuffs through the CIS states was associated with long transit times and high costs due to the Russian import ban.

Dear customers and partners,

In recent years, the transit of European agricultural products and foodstuffs through the CIS states was associated with long transit times and high costs due to the Russian import ban. Thanks to a new GPS-supported procedure, it is now possible to transport sanctioned goods by rail on the usual direct route.

The transit of embargo commodities between Brest and Dostyk and v.v. takes 6 days, as usual in this service. The GPS-supported procedure is especially designed for the transit of individual containers.

New Eastbound Services Hamburg – Wuhan / Hamburg – Yiwu

In order to offer our customers optimal transport solutions between Europe and Asia, we are continually extending our network of connections, capacities and service speed. Thus, we recently started the block train connections between Hamburg and Wuhan and Hamburg and Yiwu. We now offer two weekly departures on these routes. Special thanks go to our partners VTG and PKP.

Carsten Pottharst, Managing Director of InterRail Europe GmbH, is amazed how fast the transport offer was accepted. “We are pleased that right from the start we were able to run four fully loaded trains to China within the first nine days – including a project we handled together with IFB and WAE.”

Are you in search of capacities? Or do you want more information on these connections? Talk to us:
